School project for my illustration in the market class. Had to design a character for an existing brand and create packaging around it. I did a Marie Antoinette character for Duncan Hines Moist Deluxe cake mix.

The original is paper cut outs, with digital touchups done over it. The hair is hand drawn with pen.

How exactly did you make that? I know you added text through digital media, but did you just measure out all the sides of the bag, put the separate parts in the computer, and then print them out and fold it like origami? Well, whatever you did, it's COOL. You should be in Visual Communications, or perhaps Advertising and Design :D!

Thanks! I am majoring in visual communications at Cornish right now :)
It was made with paper cutouts that I digitally altered and just made the whole main image of the character like that and made the back and then I used InDesign to make a template for a paper bag (basically just a bunch of squares) printed it out and glued it together.

I am so good :iconhurrplz: <--good guesser

Ah-I see. I was wondering because I myself had to make a board game with my team in high school in add design. I did the design for the cards of the game and the sides to the box. We measured poster board and cut it out, laminated the cards (very tiring shit, but it was satisfying when we finished it).

You did a good job! You're going to have a really impressive portfolio by the end of your first college year!

Making a board game actually sounds like a really fun project. I would imagine it would be really tiring doing all that too, but I bet it looked awesome! :) And thanks, I'm actually in my second year of college right now. Hopefully you are right though, because our sophomore portfolio reviews are coming up! D:

It was a little scrappy since it was our first time assembling something like that from scratch with no experience outside computer tech ;u;~but it was an achievement and our teacher kept our project ( :iconfinallyplz: <---was proud of myself).

Cool!

Really? You guys get CPR reviews too?! Gahh....the pressure, I tell you! Good luck! I know you'll have the judges impressed. They'll pass you on though the art ranks XD (no worries)
